Make your candles look as good as they smell
Candles are one of the hardest products to photograph well, and one of the most rewarding when you get it right. Glass reflects everything in the room, wax shows every fingerprint, and a lit wick can blow out your highlights in a split second. At British Muses, our West London studio shoots candles for independent makers and established home-fragrance brands, turning a simple jar into an image that actually sells. Whether you list on Etsy, Shopify, Amazon or your own shop, we create clean, consistent photos that do justice to your branding, your colours and that all-important flame.
What we shoot for candle brands
Most candle sellers need a small mix of shots, so we cover the full range in one session. White-background packshots give you a crisp catalogue image that meets Amazon's requirements. Styled scenes pair your candle with seasonal props, linen, dried flowers or coffee-table moments to set a mood. Lifestyle shots place the candle in a real room so customers can picture it on their own shelf. And the hero shot, that glowing lit candle with a soft flame and warm reflection, is the image that stops the scroll. We also shoot close-up detail of labels, lids and wax texture, plus gift sets and bundles.

What's included?
Every candle shoot comes with professional lighting tuned for glass and wax, white-background packshots shot to Amazon spec (pure RGB 255,255,255), styled and lifestyle setups, the lit-candle hero shot, and high-resolution retouched files ready for web and print. Props, styling and creative direction are all part of the package, so you don't need to send anything beyond the candles themselves. Rush delivery of 24 to 48 hours is available when you're up against a launch date
Built for Etsy, Shopify and Amazon sellers
Candle businesses live and die by their first photo. On Etsy, where handmade and small-batch candles fill every search, a styled, well-lit image is the difference between a click and a scroll-past. On Amazon, a compliant white-background main image keeps your listing live and lets the zoom function show off your craftsmanship. We deliver files cropped and sized for each platform, plus square and vertical versions for Instagram and TikTok, so one shoot feeds your whole storefront.
Our Candle Photography Services in London
Why candles need a specialist eye
A candle is really three problems in one frame: a reflective glass or tin, a coloured wax that has to read true, and a flame that the camera wants to either lose or overexpose. Get the lighting wrong and your soft pink wax turns orange, your label disappears into glare, or the flame looks like a hard white blob. We light specifically for these issues, controlling reflections so your container looks premium, keeping wax colour accurate, and exposing the flame so it glows rather than burns out. Labels stay legible too, which matters when your branding is half the product.
Turnaround and pricing
Standard turnaround is five to ten working days, with a 24 to 48 hour rush option when you need it. Pricing is flexible and built around the number of candles and the number of looks you want, so a single signature candle and a 20-piece seasonal range are quoted differently. Send over your range and we'll put together a custom quote, usually the same day.
Seasonal ranges and repeat shoots
Candle sales spike around autumn and Christmas, so we help brands plan ahead with seasonal shoots that land well before the rush. Plenty of makers come back each season for a fresh set of styled images, building up a library that keeps their listings and socials feeling current all year round. Booking early means you're not scrambling for photos in your busiest month, and shooting a seasonal range together keeps the whole set looking consistent.
